Olympic senior football player Chase Webster and South Kitsap freshman swimmer Tessa Hurguy are the Kitsap Sun athletes of the week for Sept. 8-13, selected by readers in an online poll .

Athletes are nominated by their respective coaches, and the top vote-getters for both boys and girls are declared the winners.

Webster totaled 144 rushing yards, 110 receiving yards and five touchdowns in Olympic's 40-6 victory over Central Kitsap in Week 2. He collected 452 votes to lead all nominees in boys sports. Other nominees were Grady DeVries and Rocco Targett of North Kitsap (227 votes) and Brayden Moore of South Kitsap (32 votes).

Hurguy posted state qualifying times in the 500 freestyle and 100 butterfly, while also swimming the fastest 50 freestyle time at the Auburn Relays. She c
