A ground delay is currently affecting some flights heading to Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) due to an equipment outage, according to the Federal Aviation Administration.

The FAA has implemented a ground stop for select departing flights from certain regions en route to DFW. While this is not a systemwide ground stop, passengers may still experience delays.

The FAA is also slowing flights into Dallas Love Field as a result of the same equipment issue.

The agency reports that disruptions could continue for several hours, potentially through 5 p.m. The specific nature of the equipment issue has not been disclosed, but it has been traced to Dallas TRACON, a regional air traffic control facility. The FAA says it is investigating the cause.
