SAN FRANCISCO—On Monday, September 8, 2025, at approximately 11:16 in the evening, an unprovoked attack occurred onboard on one of the light-rail MUNIs in the West Portal neighborhood on West Portal Avenue, one block west of West Portal Station to a 44-year-old man. The local news report have not specified the MUNI it occurred on. The name of the man has not been released to the public as of yet.

The attacker was a male of Hispanic descent, but his age is not specified. After the attack, the assailant ran off before police officers from the San Francisco Police Department could apprehend him, and he is still at large.

As for the victim, he was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
