KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - A Knoxville man has been sentenced to more than four decades behind bars after trying to kill his ex-girlfriend last year, according to District Attorney General Charme Allen.
Allen said in April 2024, officers with the Knoxville Police Department responded to a shooting at a home on Dandridge Avenue.

There, Allen said detectives learned that 28-year-old Jevess Craigmire had recently moved out after his relationship with the victim ended. Craigmire was waiting for her when she came home on the morning of April 20 and pulled out a handgun, firing 16 rounds at her and striking her several times.
