Mississippi Gov. Tate Reeves called the death of Demartravion "Trey" Reed , 21, of Grenada, a "tragedy" following the Mississippi State Medical Examiner announcing autopsy findings consistent with hanging and no foul play.
Reed's body was found hanging from a tree early Monday, Sept. 15 on the Delta State University campus in Cleveland. The young Black man was a student, and investigators initially ruled his death a suicide. An autopsy report from the state says the same.
The family has doubts and is pursuing a second autopsy and carrying out a private investigation.
