(Kansas City, MO) — Sydney Mollentine, President & CEO of the Humane Society of Greater Kansas City, says by now most Missouri school children have adjusted to the school schedule, but their pets at home may be missing the extra human contact they enjoyed during the carefree summer months. Mollentine says dogs are creatures of habit and may misbehave when there’s a major schedule change.
She for some dogs, using an indoor crate with an open door works well for dogs. She says when as a reward, rather punishment, a pet crate can be a comfort for a dog.
She notes most cats are more independent minded, and do pretty well without the human contact of the summer.
