STATESVILLE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) -- A western Iredell County man was arrested on several felony drug charges Tuesday after a traffic stop led deputies allegedly finding crystal meth on him.
According to the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office, members of the Aggressive Criminal Enforcement (ACE) Team were conducting a license checkpoint on Old Mocksville Road at Chief Thomas Road. That’s where a Kia Sorento driven by Charlie Franklin Jones pulled up to deputies.
Deputies allege an open container of alcohol was immediately spotted inside the vehicle. Jones was asked to step out, and upon doing so, deputies say they discovered crystal methamphetamine in the suspect’s pocket.
Jones subsequently admitted to having additional bags of methamphetamine inside the vehicle. Deputies seized all ill
