Gov. Bill Lee announced Friday the appointment of Jim Todd to the 20th Judicial District Criminal Court in Nashville, effective immediately.

Todd fills the vacancy at the Davidson County Criminal Court created by the May retirement of Judge Cheryl Blackburn.
According to a release, Todd most recently served as a judge in the Davidson County General Sessions Court, District VI. He earned his bachelor’s degree at Vanderbilt University and a juris doctor degree at Memphis State University (now the University of Memphis).
The 20th Judicial District covers Davidson County.
