A third asylum seeker has now been deported under the UK’s ‘one in, one out’ deal with France.
But more small boats made the dangerous journey across the channel today – adding to the thirty one thousand people who’ve made the crossing this year.
Deputy Prime Minister David Lammy says the government hopes the deportations serve as an “immediate deterrent” to anyone else planning to reach the UK on a small boat.
