TIOGA, N.D. (KFYR) - A Watford City man has died after being hit in the head with a piece of equipment near Tioga at a Hess Oil Company pipeline.

It happened at 101st Avenue and 68th Street.

Paramedics took the man to the Tioga Medical Center, where he died from his injuries.

Mountrail County Sheriff’s Department officers dispatched to the scene found that the work crew was doing routine maintenance on the pipeline when the accident occurred.

The Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA) will be investigating the incident.

His body has been transported to the North Dakota Forensic Examiner’s Office in Bismarck for autopsy.

The name of the man is not being released at this time to allow for the notification of his next of kin.
