CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – The chief engineer for an 'out of control' container ship that passed through Charleston Harbor last year, prompting a temporary closure of the Arthur Ravenel Jr. Bridge, has pleaded guilty to charges in connection with the incident.
Fernando San Diego San Juan pleaded guilty to failure to report a hazardous condition and obstruction of an agency proceeding, federal court documents show.
For count one, he faces a maximum sentence of six years in prison, a fine of up to $250,000, and supervised release of up to three years, with a special assessment of $100.
