Syracuse, N.Y. — A Syracuse teen has taken a plea deal in the fatal shooting a 15-year-old boy in Lower Onondaga Park.

Ny’Zhon Thomas pleaded guilty Thursday to acting together with two others to murder 15-year-old Karon Works .

Works was found shot in the city park around 8 p.m. on Dec. 11. He later died at Upstate University Hospital.

The others accused of killing Works are:

Caleb Gibson , 16, who was already being held at the juvenile detention center on unrelated charges when he was arrested.

Ja’kye Jameson , who was arrested on Dec. 3, 2024.

Thomas and Gibson are both charged with second-degree murder and two counts of second-degree criminal possession of a weapon.

Jameson was charged with second-degree murder and second-degree criminal possession of a weapon.
