KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Knoxville police are investigating after a stabbing near the 300 block of Ben Hur Avenue that left one dead and another facing second-degree murder charges.

The Knoxville Police Department said the victim was sent to the University of Tennessee Medical Center, and that 27-year-old Trevon Blair was detained by officers who responded to the scene. KPD later confirmed that the victim died from her injuries.

KPD said officers responded around 3 p.m. to the area of Kenner Avenue and Olive Street, finding a woman had sustained "numerous" stab wounds and was unresponsive.

"A crime scene was located at a home in the 300 block of Ben Hur Avenue, while a witness provided a possible suspect description," KPD said.
