Students at a Massachusetts elementary school got a surprise day off on Friday after a skunk snuck in overnight and sprayed inside a classroom.
Fitchburg Public Schools said in a statement that they received a call at 1:30 a.m. about an incident at McKay Elementary School. A skunk had entered the building, made its way into a classroom and sprayed.
"Last night, McKay Elementary had an unexpected visitor… a skunk found its way into the building and, unfortunately, left its mark in one of the classrooms," Fitchburg Mayor Sam Squailia said on Facebook.
