MANCHESTER, N.H. —

High-level meetings will open next week at the United Nations and Sen. Jeanne Shaheen will be on hand as the ranking member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.

Shaheen is the top Democrat on the committee and plays a key role in American foreign policy.

She will be engaged in several bilateral meetings on Monday and is planning to connect with leaders from Ukraine, Syria and Bosnia-Herzegovina.

"So, all places where there are issues that the United States has been involved in, and where our voices are really important in trying to help resolve some of those conflicts," Shaheen said.
