EDINBURGH, Ind. — Edinburgh High School abruptly canceled its scheduled homecoming football game against Milan just hours before kickoff.
James Halik, interim superintendent of the Edinburgh Community School Corporation, said the school received a formal harassment complaint and it was reported to Edinburgh Chief of Police Doyne Little.
"We take those seriously … zero tolerance," Halik said. "We are assigning the situation to a non-biased Compliance Officer on Monday to begin our internal investigation. There are consequences for harassment and it cannot be tolerated."
In a Facebook post made just after 3:30 p.m. on Sept. 19, the school said due to "unforeseen circumstances," the homecoming football game and all related activities have been canceled.
