Parker Romo has found a new home with the Falcons.
The former Patriots kicker has been named Atlanta’s starter, per coach Raheem Morris. As a member of the Falcons practice squad, Romo was elevated last week in place of incumbent Younghoe Koo and went 5-for-5 on field goals in his debut.
Now it’ll his his job moving forward. Atlanta is cutting Koo and signing Romo to the 53-man roster on a two-year deal, according to NFL Network.
Koo was one of the league’s best kickers during his first five seasons with the Falcons, but fell off last year, making just 73.5% of his field goals. After missing a 44-yarder in the opener, Morris opted to give Romo a shot, and he ran with it.
