Nevada Historian Guy Rocha passes away at 73

RENO, Nev. (KOLO) - Long time Nevada historian Guy Rocha has passed away at the of 73.

Rocha left his mark on Nevada serving with the state for more than 20 years, as well as a teacher and a speaker at the State Legislature.

UNR President Brian Sandoval said of Rocha “Throughout his life, he made it his mission to tell Nevada’s story with passion, perspective and precision. Always a person who let the facts tell the story, Guy tirelessly took the state’s colorful stories and through his discerning eye and deep talent for historical research turned these myths into something more-the unvarnished truth.”
