The Richland County Sheriff’s Department said Friday that 20-year-old Jonathan Bethea is charged with two counts of attempted murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.
The counts are linked to a Sept. 14 incident that happened at 1050 Southern Drive. An online search matches the address to the Redpoint Apartments.
RCSD said an investigation revealed Bethea allegedly opened fire after getting in a fight with another person in the area. The victims were not involved in the altercation, according to the sheriff’s department.
Both victims were found at the scene by responding deputies and were taken to a hospital for treatment.
