SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) -- A bicyclist is dead and another was injured after two people riding on the Lake Murray bike path collided with each other early Friday morning.

People nearby reported to police they saw two bicyclists collide with each other on the Lake Murray bike path along Lake Murray in eastern San Diego County, the San Diego Police Department reports.

When officers arrived just before 7:30 a.m. Friday at the section of the bike path near Kiowa Drive and Sunset Park, they found one bicyclist with critical injuries who was pronounced dead at the scene. The other bicyclist was taken to the hospital in unknown condition.
