Nearly $6,000 was raised as of Friday for a single mother who was shot in the face during what police are describing as an instance of road rage outside of Stockton University last week.
The woman was merging onto a single lane on South Pomona Road in Galloway Township on Thursday when her car was cut off by an SUV driven by Ernest Heinz, 46, of Port Republic, police wrote in an affidavit of probable cause.
Both Heinz and the woman turned onto Jimmie Leeds Road, heading east toward Stockton. After following the woman for about a mile, Heinz allegedly drove up beside the woman’s car at a traffic light outside the campus, shouting expletives and threatening her, the affidavit states. Moments later, he fired at least one shot from a gun, striking the woman’s nose, the affidavit states.
