Shaun White and Nina Dobrev “grew apart” before news broke of their split, Us Weekly has learned.

“There was no drama here. No cheating was involved,” a source tells Us exclusively of Dobrev, 36, and White, 39. “They were loyal to each other their entire relationship. At the end of the day, they’re human beings, just like everyone else. They genuinely just grew apart and realized they would be better off just as friends and not husband and wife.”

People was the first to confirm on September 11 that Dobrev and White had called it quits after five years together. The pair announced their engagement in October 2024.

According to a second insider, the duo were already in the process of planning their nuptials when they decided to end their relationship.
