ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. — A medical doctor from St. Augustine was arrested Thursday after detectives seized three terabytes worth of "graphic sexual assault of children and toddlers," the St. Johns County Sheriff's Office said in a release.

Daniel J. Donofrio is charged with 26 counts of possession of child sexual abuse material. However, SJSO says the investigation is active and additional charges are expected.

The material was found when detectives executed a search warrant at Donofrio's residence and seized electronic devices, SJSO said. They discovered "hundreds" of images.

SJSO says they learned that Donofrio is a medical doctor during the investigation.
