AURORA, Colo. — Police in Aurora urged drivers to find alternate routes if traveling northbound on Interstate 225 after a woman was killed in a four-vehicle crash on the interstate Friday afternoon.

Aurora police reported the crash just before 3:30 p.m. Friday via X, formerly Twitter . Investigators said the crash, which they initially reported as a serious injury crash, involved four-vehicles and a motorcycle.

The rider of the motorcycle, who was only identified as a woman, was rushed to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, and died shortly after arriving, according to police.

There were no other injuries reported at the scene of the crash.

All northbound lanes of I-225 were shut down at Smith Road in Aurora and traffic was being diverted to 17th Place.
