MANCHESTER, N.H. —

On Wednesday, the Executive Council confirmed New Hampshire Attorney General John Formella for another four-year term.

Formella, who served as general counsel to former Gov. Chris Sununu, was first nominated for attorney general by Sununu in 2021.

Gov. Kelly Ayotte initially placed Formella in hold-over status earlier this year, indicating she could replace him, but ultimately decided to renominate him .

His new term runs through 2029.
