PEORIA ( 25News Now ) - Peoria County Animal Protection Services is joining a nationwide effort to help animals find their forever homes.
Shelters across the nation are participating in the ‘ASPCA Rescue Effort Campaign,’ during which pet adoption fees will be waived from Sept. 22 to Sept. 27.
PCAPS is looking for new pet parents as soon as possible, as the shelter is caring for nearly 200 animals with limited space.
The shelter currently has a diverse range of animals, including cats, dogs, guinea pigs, and birds. PCAPS adds that even if potential adopters are on the fence, sheltering would help free up space for other animals in need.
