ALBIA, Iowa —

Officer Bonsai, a rescued tortoise, has become an "honorary police tortoise" and hometown mascot in Albia, Iowa.

On Wednesday, she was taking a slow and steady patrol at the Carnegie-Evans Public Library. Families and kids stopped by to meet the shelled officer. Advertisement

Albia Police said Officer Bonsai will keep making community rounds, and she's already winning hearts across the community.
