LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - The official start to fall is right around the corner, but that doesn’t mean the planting season is done just yet.
Back in the spring, we spoke to Van Atta’s Greenhouse and Flower Shop about how to get ready for the growing season coming out of the Michigan winter.
As we head into the fall, Lisa Bashline from Van Atta’s is lending some advice on things you can do, including plants that can take root before winter and ahead of the spring.
“Right now is a perfect time to plant trees, shrubs, perennials,” Lisa tells me.
“Usually we recommend about half strength for this time of year fertilizing, as opposed to full strength in the spring.”
Headlining seasonals should also see their popularity return, with plenty of time to enjoy right through the leaf changes.
