Republic Services customers in Kent will get a rebate for the missed service in July during a work stoppage to honor strikes in other cities across the nation.

“I’m happy to share some great news with you regarding rebates from Republic Services for the missed collections during the labor dispute in July,” Kent Mayor Dana Ralph announced Sept. 19 on Facebook.

Ralph said the city and Republic Services negotiated rebates for missed collections. Some customers missed one collection while others missed two.

Residential customers are billed quarterly, and these rebates will appear on the fall bill, Ralph said. The rebate amount will be based on the number of missed collections for each customer.
