Sometimes animals are companions with which we share an especially strong connection. They are with us through many years of the highs and lows, as well as the more special moments. Many of them challenge us. Some provide us with an once-in-a-lifetime bond which lives on forever in our hearts. Countless formerly rejected animals actually inspire the people who adopt them. When they die, it can leave us bereft.
