The actress, 59, admitted that fans of the beloved 1987 film, “The Princess Bride,” shouldn’t hold their breath for a sequel.

“Sometime after we hit the 30-year mark, the cast did a Zoom call, and a couple of actors were like, ‘We’ve been asked if we’ll do a sequel,’ and I was like, ‘Well, a lot of us are going to be in a wheelchair,'” Wright recalled to AARP’s Movies for Grownups in an interview published on Friday. “So no, that will never happen.” 6

The family comedy will celebrate its 40th anniversary in 2027.

“The Princess Bride” is based on the William Goldman novel of the same name and sees a fairy tale adventure about a beautiful young woman, Princess Buttercup (Wright), and her true love, Westley (Cary Elwes).
