BOONTON, N.J. (PIX11) -- It was this street in Boonton, the town where he grew up, that he walked the beat as a police officer.
Nearly half a century later, Jim Gannon is New Jersey's Republican nominee for Lieutenant Governor.
"This is not about Republicans and Democrats. It's not," said Gannon. "It's about all the people.
"When you're a walking cop," said Gannon, "you learn how to treat people. You learn what's important to people out there. That's what it's all about."
Gannon is currently serving as the Sheriff of Morris County, a position he was first elected to in 2016, now serving in his third term.
