NBC 7 anchor Monica Dean has been named to the Silver Circle by the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences' Pacific Southwest chapter.

The award is given to journalists with 25 or more years in the business who have contributed significantly to television and to the community.

Mary Ellen Eagleston, a production operator at NBC 7, also was honored with the award.

"This year’s inductees embody the best of television excellence and community impact in our region," said DJ Summitt, president of NATAS Pacific Southwest. "Their careers have informed, inspired and elevated audiences for decades, while also giving back generously through volunteerism and mentorship."
