FRESNO COUNTY, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) - An evacuation zone for the Garnet Fire in Fresno County has been modified into two zones. One of the zones has been downgraded to an evacuation warning.
The Fresno County Sheriff's Office said Friday that they, along with other officials, have elected to modify zone K27, which was previously in an evacuation order.
They modified it to K27A and K27B. Officials said that K27A, which includes Courtright and Wishon Reservoirs, has been placed into an evacuation warning.
Although K27A is now in a warning, access to the area is still restricted through K27B, according to officials.
The Garnet Fire started on Aug. 24 and was caused by lightning. It is currently 60,263 acres and is 91% contained.
