SALT LAKE CITY — The driver of a semitruck is in serious to critical condition after the vehicle caught fire on Interstate 15 in Iron County on Friday.
The Utah Department of Transportation said the semi caught fire in the southbound lanes, on a ramp located 14 miles South of Beaver.
Lt. Cameron Roden with the Utah Highway Patrol said there didn’t appear to be a crash, but a witness told authorities they saw the truck’s engine on fire.
“ It appears to be hauling candles,” Roden said. “The trailer is mostly burned as well.”
The driver was reported to be in serious to critical condition, according to Roden.
