Dodgers pitcher Clayton Kershaw is retiring at the end of the 2025 season.

The Dodgers made the announcement on Thursday, Sept. 18.

The 37-year-old made his debut with the Dodgers in the 2008 season, spending his career with the team that won two World Series during his tenure.

From 2011 to 2017, Kershaw was the best pitcher in the game, winning three Cy Young Awards, an MVP (2014), and leading the league in ERA five times. He's a first ballot Hall of Famer, most baseball observers say.

Kershaw will make his final Dodger Stadium regular-season start on Friday, Sept. 19, against the San Francisco Giants , according to the announcement.

Fans swiftly left comments under the Dodgers’ post on Thursday, calling Kershaw a “legend” and “goat," an acronym for greatest of all time.
