NORTH PORT, Fla. ( WWSB ) - In the early morning hours of Friday, two different 7-Eleven convenience stores within a 20-mile radius were robbed at gunpoint, police say.

In the first robbery, at about 3:30 a.m. in Venice, investigators say the suspect was wearing a black hoodie, with glasses and gloves.

The second robbery occurred about 30 minutes later in North Port.

Police also say that they believe these weren’t the only two convenience stores hit by this same robber. “Clearly this is a violent crime, so it’s getting a lot of attention,” North Port Police Capt. Eric Hill said.

The chief of staff for the North Port Police Department, Jason Frank, told ABC 7 that this robbery might not prove worthwhile to the suspect.
