Spartanburg District Five is facing a federal lawsuit following its firing of a teacher assistant over Facebook comments related to the Sept. 10 murder of conservative activist Charlie Kirk. Attorneys for Lauren Vaughn, who worked at River Ridge Elementary School, allege in a federal court complaint that the school district violated her constitutionally protected free speech rights.
