BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) -- If you’ve been to the Kern County Fair any weekend afternoon you know it’s largely about young families. If you’ve been to the fair later at night you know it’s mostly frequented by young people.

But the first Friday morning of the fair is always set aside for seniors -- the over 62 set, who tend to have a different set of interests than the kids.

Senior Day has most of the features of regular days at the fair, except it starts a couple of hours earlier than usual, and it is most definitely service oriented, with programs and information directed at the more mature among us.
