MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW) -- Horry County police are on the scene of a "weapons incident" on Kings Highway in Myrtle Beach, the department said Friday night.

Authorities are working in the area of S. Kings Highway between 25th Avenue South and 27th Avenue South, HCPD said. Officers initiated a traffic stop at about 8 p.m.

The driver of the vehicle was safely taken into custody, but a passenger in the vehicle pulled out a weapon, according to police. Kings Highway is completely shut down in the area.
