STEVENS COUNTY, Wash. – The Crown Creek Fire, ignited by a lightning strike on August 29, has burned approximately 14,191 acres.
Firefighters have achieved 72% containment, according to Stevens County Emergency Management (SCEM).
On Friday, SCEM announced that all Level 3 evacuations for the Crown Creek area have been lifted. However, Johnson Grade, Hawks and Dead Medicine roads remain closed to all but local traffic due to ongoing wildfire activities.
Level 2 evacuations are still in place for the east and slightly north portions of the fire. Drivers have been advised to proceed with caution as fire crews continue to work on local roads.
SCEM reported that crews are engaged in mop-up efforts and patrol operations around the fire’s perimeter. They remain focused on structure protection
