The Cincinnati Reds celebrated Hispanic Heritage Month by hosting local students for festivities and clinics before their game against the Chicago Cubs.
With 30% of Major League Baseball players being Latino or Hispanic, the Reds, who have several such players on their roster, hosted a series of festivities under the banner “Fiesta Rojos.” Advertisement
Reds All-Star shortstop Elly De La Cruz, along with other players, met with students from the Academy of Multilingual Immersion Studies, Academy of World Languages, and Roberts Academy. The students participated in a Q&A session with the players in Spanish, took part in pitching and hitting clinics, and enjoyed salsa lessons.
