WESTLAKE, Ohio (WJW) - A wanted fugitive decided to run from police on a heavily traveled road and it ended in a high-speed collision with an innocent driver.
On Thursday at 6:30 p.m., Westlake police were alerted by police in neighboring Bay Village that they had just called off pursuit of a car because of the dangerous actions of the driver.
A Westlake officer then spotted the Buick sedan recklessly driving through the parking lot of a car wash on Detroit Road near Dover Center and attempted to stop the driver, who was wanted on felony warrants.
“Yes, we see him, eastbound on Detroit. Speeds are 40, one male operator," the officer told the dispatcher, as heard from audio on his dash camera.
