Two Morrissey shows in New England - one at the MGM Musical Hall in Boston and another at Foxwoods Resort Casino in Connecticut - are canceled this weekend over death threats against the singer, according to the venues.

Saturday's show at MGM Musical Hall at Fenway is canceled, according to an Instagram post by the venue, which said the decision was made over a "credible threat on Morrissey's life."

Friday's show at Foxwoods was also canceled, listing "recent events in Ottawa" as the reasoning.

According to the Ottawa Citizen, a 26-year-old man was arrested after making threats against the artist earlier this month.
