AUSTIN, Texas — A Honduran national is facing at least 20 years in federal prison after pleading guilty to committing a series of armed robberies across Austin.
According to court documents, 27-year-old Christian Lopez-Burgos committed the robberies between New Year's Eve 2023 and February 2024.
According to the U.S. Department of Justice, on Dec. 31, 2023, Lopez-Burgos used a black-over-tan pistol during an attempted robbery of a fast-food restaurant on I-35 in Austin and a convenience store robbery on North Lamar Boulevard in Austin. From the convenience store, he and two other masked, armed males stole approximately $6,000 while Lopez-Burgos pointed his gun at an employee who was working the cash register.
