The wearing of the green is encouraged this weekend at the Saint Patrick's Irish Festival this weekend.

The church is celebrating the six-month mark to Saint Patrick's Day with a gathering of all things Irish.

From specialty food and drinks, to Irish bands that get the party into high gear, a good time is tops on the agenda for the fundraiser.

Vendors will also be on hand to sell their wares. The festival has become a tourist event drawing in numbers of out-of-town visitors.

"All of us have Irish roots in our family, whether that be grandparents, uncles, whatever. My roommate found out about this and it seemed really interesting. We're big into Guinness as well, so it's very exciting. We wanted to check it out," said Ryan Willis, an Erie visitor.
