PEORIA ( 25News Now ) - Caterpillar is marking a century in business by showing Peoria its rich history, as well as what’s to come in the future.

Cat expects over 50,000 attendees to enjoy festivities throughout the two-weekend event. Some of the sights to be seen include construction equipment, new and old, a kid zone to play in, and a centennial tour exhibit, which will be seen around the world.

“It’s amazing to be here in a milestone year. I don’t plan on being here for the next one, so it has been really special being able to celebrate 100 years with Caterpillar,” said Lauren Hogan, an employee attending the event.

The main event is a demonstration of about 100 different machines that defined the company’s legacy.
