A police officer has suffered minor injuries after allegedly being tasered while attempting to carry out an arrest in Bathurst, New South Wales.
Police said officers from the Chifley Police District arrested a 39-year-old man on Friday on two warrants for property-related matters.
The accused was taken to Bathurst Hospital for overnight observation after receiving minor injuries during the arrest.
On Saturday morning the man allegedly attempted to escape police custody and officers deployed a taser while apprehending him.
The man allegedly got hold of the taser and deployed it towards an officer, police said.
Hospital staff assessed the officer as a precaution.
