CHINA GROVE — Salisbury’s first jayvee win of the season was a big one, as the Hornets won 24-16 at Carson on Thursday to start South Piedmont Conference play.

Freshman quarterback Ryan McCoy keyed the offense for the Hornets with a rushing touchdown, a 2-point conversion and a TD pass to DJ Jeter.

Kyhre Sellers had a rushing TD for the Hornets (1-3).

Braylan Hoffner ran for a 2-point conversion. Darrius Graham-Taylor was credited with a safety when he tackled a Cougar in the end zone.
