SALT LAKE CITY — A man was killed after hitting debris on southbound I-15 in Salt Lake City on Friday evening, according to state troopers.
The collision occurred at 7:58 p.m. near 2300 North just north of Rose Park, according to Utah Highway Patrol Sgt. Mike Alexander.
"All of I-15 is shut down for the investigation and will remain so for at least another hour," Alexander said. The on-ramps for Beck Street and U.S. 89 are also closed and "traffic is being diverted to I-215," he added.
"Plan for delays and heavier traffic between the closure point and West Bountiful," UDOT said on social media.
Deputies have not identified the driver who was killed, and more information was not immediately available.
